Taking Us Higher: Meet Mirasol's New Executive Director ...
Mirasol is pleased to announce the appointment of Diane Ryan, MA, CPT, as our new Executive Director. Ryan is uniquely qualified to lead the organization, with more than a decade of experience as a primary therapist at Mirasol and eight years as Mirasol's Clinical Director.
In her new role, Diane will direct day-to-day operations, staffing, admissions, regulatory compliance and marketing for Mirasol's residential, intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) eating disorder treatment programs.
Under Ryan's direction, Mirasol will build on its tradition of innovation in alternative treatment, and expand the role of adventure therapy in both the adult and adolescent treatment programs.
"My goal is to maintain Mirasol's track record of excellence and take that forward with new approaches and new interventions based on recent developments in the field of neuroscience," says Ryan. "The latest research underscores the importance of connection as a primary component of mental, emotional and physical health. Eating disorders at their core are about disconnection, and wilderness and the other experiential therapies we practice here at Mirasol are all designed to foster connection with yourself, with the people around you and with your place in the world."
... And Our New Clinical Directors!
Maeve Shaughnessy, Clinical Director, Adult Eating Disorder Treatment Program
Maeve Shaughnessy, MACP, completed her BA in Sociology at the University of Arizona and her Masters in Community Counseling at the University of Phoenix.
Maeve is a Mirasol veteran with previous experience as a Counseling Assistant and Aftercare Coordinator.
She is returning to Mirasol after three years as a primary therapist for H.O.P.E. Counseling Services in Las Vegas and as a Patient Care Assistant and Mental Health Counselor for Eating Recovery Center and Centennial Peaks Hospital in Colorado. Maeve enjoys the camping trips, hiking, and challenge course activities that Mirasol offers and fully believes these programs enhance the process of recovery.
Jodi Tudisco, Clinical Director, Adolescent Eating Disorder Treatment Program
Jodi Tudisco, MA, LAC, LPC (pending), was drawn to Mirasol for its holistic approach to treatment and recovery and is trained in TRE and EMDR. Jodi is continually inspired by the Mirasol team's investment in the well-being of each client. Her goal is to meet the clients where they are and work with them to develop individual treatment plans that maintain a safe place while challenging the client. Most of all, Jodi enjoys working with like-minded staff focused on treating the whole person — mind, body and spirit — and she's very excited about the new direction for the adolescent program.
"It's a very rich program with much depth and substance," says Jodi. "The wide variety of therapeutic approaches creates a lot of opportunities to reach the client. It's much more than just 'talk therapy'."
