The Promise of Trans-Cranial Electrical Stimulation
Along with its pioneering work in neurofeedback for the treatment of eating disorders and co-occurring conditions, Mirasol has been offering trans-cranial electrical stimulation to clients in its PHP partial hospitalization program.
Trans-cranial electrical stimulation applies very low levels of electric current to areas of the brain associated with depression, anxiety, OCD and ADHD. These low levels of current can affect the plasticity of the brain, allowing more functional brain behaviors to be learned quicker and easier, supporting therapy for these conditions.
Dr. Sanjay Manchanda coordinates the program, and he recently conducted training for Mirasol staff on how it works and its potential health effects, including an update on current research.Learn More

Mirasol Alumni Survey
If you completed at least 45 days of residential treatment at Mirasol, you may have received a request to complete our online alumni survey. The survey is only 22 questions long and should take less than 15 minutes to complete.
The survey is confidential and will only be shared with Mirasol staff. Your responses will help us not only measure the quality of our care, but guide us in continuing to improve our programs to provide the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Private Facebook Group for Mirasol Alumni
While conducting the alumni survey, we learned that many former Mirasol clients would like to stay in touch with each other and with Mirasol staff. So we have set up a closed Facebook group alumni can join at facebook/groups/mirasolalumni/. The purpose of the group is to network with, and provide mutual support for, other individuals in recovery from eating disorders. Mirasol staff may contribute and moderate content. We will approve your membership as soon as we verify that you are a former Mirasol client.
It's Backpacking Season Again!
The cooler weather is finally returning, and that means we enjoyed a three-day early fall backpacking trip with clients in one of Arizona's most beautiful canyons.
