Who We Are

The Story of the Mirasol Icons

In 17th century European culture, the sunflower served to illustrate devotion and constancy, reaching in faith and fidelity toward the divine.

Concurrently, there appeared the rise of emblem books, featuring a set of woodblocks or engravings paired with epigrams, or a brief verse. The accompanying text gave meaning to the individual image, transforming it into a "speaking picture" that conveyed its message without verbal explanation.

It is in this contextual framework that we present the Mirasol Icons, commissioned to convey the Mirasol philosophy and represent the recovery process — steeped in constancy and devotion toward healing the mind, the body, the spirit.
